Library News

The summer of 2006 was an exciting time for the Classics Library. We got a complete makeover. The walls were all painted, the shelving refreshed or replaced, plus we received two brand new comfy chairs. Our wonderful facilities staff also made us two new computer desks with Doric(ish!) columns for legs. Plus a miniture illuminated, erupting Vesuvius. This project resulted in not only a cleaner, fresher, more aesthetically pleasing work and study space, it also gained us more room on our previously very tightly packed shelves.

Here are some before, during and after photos. Before = yellow walls, after = green. Just click on the image to enlarge. Enjoy.

Later, in December 2007, the ever imaginative and skillful Steve and Frank made us our very own suggestion box, an exact replica of the Pantheon in Rome. The last picture is, of course, the real thing.
