Academic Genealogy of Chemistry Faculty: Genealogy Trees |
These genealogy charts show the relationships of various "families" of UT chemists based on a common ancestor. They are excerpted from the full chart, which is too large to view effectively on the Web. (The full chart display hangs in the Mallet Chemistry Library.) Baeyer, Bunsen, Cooke, Hofmann, Liebig, and Ostwald all trace ultimately back to Rouelle. Remsen traces back to Bergman. The Cambridge line traces back to the geologist Adam Sedgwick. The "Others" category contains those who do not trace back into the main chemical lineages.
