Description

The Architecture & Planning Library is playing host to a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the construction of historic Battle Hall, a building that is part of the original “Forty Acres” at The University of Texas at Austin.

A collaborative undertaking of the School of Architecture, the Texas Exes and the University of Texas Libraries, the Centennial Celebration will take place at 5 p.m. on November 11, featuring remarks on the occasion by renowned architect and W. L. Moody, Jr. Centennial Professor in Architecture Lawrence W. Speck occurring at Jessen Auditorium in Homer Rainey Hall. Attendees are invited to a reception following the talk in the Architecture & Planning Library in Battle Hall, which will include self-guided tours of the building, light refreshments and a cake-cutting to commemorate the anniversary.

The event is free and open to the public.
