Working with Geospatial Data: Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technologies are increasingly used in research across all disciplines. This workshop is intended for absolute beginners interested in learning more about what GIS can do, but may be useful refresher of key concepts for more advanced users. We will cover core concepts like data types and coordinate systems, discuss a variety of open-source and proprietary software platforms, and share examples of practical applications from a wide range of disciplines.
