  • Mulberry Family: MORACEAE; represented by:
    • Mulberry (Morus rubra); as far westward and Morus microphylla as far eastward as 7.
    • Bois d'Arc (Toxylon pomiferum); westward to 7 and 14. In early days planted as a hedge to control stock.
  • Nettle Family: URTICACEAE; represented by:
    • Urtica chamaedryoides; 7, 9, 14 eastward.
    • Boehmeria; 7, 9, 14 eastward.
    • All are in moist shaded soil or adjacent to marshes.
  • Mistletoe Family: LORANTHACEAE.
    • Mistletoe (Phoradendron); in addition to the common eastern mistletoe (P. flavescens); less common species of this and related genera occur westward. Some of these are dwarf, leafless forms on pines and related gymnosperms.
  • Sandalwood Family: SANTALACEAE.
    • Bastard Toadflax (Comandra) occurs along the edge of Caprock (12).
