    4. Margaret Ann Dewey and Robert O. Gross, outstanding undergraduate students, receive scholarship stipends from Assistant Chairman Mcßride. Margaret is the recipient of the David Johnston Crawford Scholarship, and Bob was awarded a Miss Erne Graves Scholarship.

    5. Alexander Burke Spencer (center) and Harlan H. Roepke (right) are informed of their fellowship awards by Chairman Clabaugh. Burke is the recipient of the Humble Oil & Refining Co. Fellowship; he is mapping the igneous rocks near Uvalde under Dr. Clabaugh's supervision. Hal is recipient of the Shell Oil Co. Fellowship, and his research on Pennsylvanian sediments is being supervised by Dr. Folk.

    6. John R. Everett (left), Edward C. Bingler (right center), and John D. Cooper (extreme right) are informed by Chairman Clabaugh of their scholarship awards. John Everett is the recipient of the Mobil Petroleum Co. Scholarship. Both Ed Bingler and John Cooper were awarded the first Francis L. Whitney Memorial Scholarships. Cooper is doing research in Cretaceous stratigraphy under Dr. Young's direction. Bingler and Everett are both working on structural problems under Dr. Muehlberger's supervision.

    7. James H. Stitt (left) receives a Certificate of Award from Graduate Advisor DeFord while Michael A. Wiley (right) looks on. Jim is recipient of the Joseph S. Cullinan Scholarship (Fall 1962) and the Standard Oil Co. of Texas Fellowship (Spring 1963). He is doing research on Pennsylvanian stratigraphy under the supervision of Dr. Bell. Mike is the recipient of the Mobil Petroleum Company Scholarship (Fall 1962) and the Walter B. Sharp Scholarship (Spring 1963). He is completing a field problem in southwest Utah under the direction of Dr. Mackin.
