    9. Tom J. Freeman, Jr., Fayetteville, Arkansas, receiving a $500.00 scholarship check from Chairman Ellison. Tom is the 1961—62 recipient of the Miss Effie Graves Scholarship given by Leslie Bowling. He has almost completed his Ph.D. dissertation and his map is in the background. He is doing his research in stratigraphy under the supervision of Dr. Bell.

    10. Tom K. Bjorklund, Phoenix, Arizona, receiving a $500.00 scholarship check from Chairman Ellison. Tom is the 1961—62 recipient of the Mr. and Mrs. L. F. McCollum Scholarship in Geology and Petroleum Engineering. He is doing his research in structural geology under the supervision of Dr. Muehlberger.
