Through the years the Tower Clock has regulated the lives of thousands of faculty, staff and students; no other architectural feature is more evocative of the campus. This magnificent drawing, selected from the more than two thousand items in the Paul Cret collection of architectural drawings of University of Texas buildings, measures approximately four by eight feet and is one half full scale. Rendered in charcoal and colored pencil, it represents the finest achievement of architectural draughtmanship and is one of the prized items in The University's Architectural Drawings Collection. The designer of the clock and its tower was the eminent architect, Paul Cret, who gave the University its great master plan and some of its finest buildings.
