By Air
Austin is located in south central Texas and served by a major, international airport. Recently named one of the world’s best airports, Austin Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) offers non–stop flights to 36 destinations around the United States and is served by 10 airlines. Local bands perform live music during happy hour. Some of Austin’s most popular restaurants and stores can also be found at the airport.
By Car
Once you’ve arrived in Austin, navigating your way around town is easy and straight forward. ABIA is just 8 miles from downtown Austin and the Driskill Hotel. All major car rental agencies are located at ABIA. With the Driskill centrally located downtown, you will find so many places within walking distance that you may not need a car.
By Bus, Shuttle, or Taxi
Public transportation is provided by Capital Metro. Super Shuttle service is available, with average one–way fare to downtown Austin at about $12. Cabs are convenient and plentiful, located outside the airport’s downstairs baggage claim area. Average cab fare to downtown Austin is about $30.
