Book and Serial Vendors

The University of Texas Libraries works closely with, and relies upon, many vendors and publishers in its efforts to obtain monographic library materials, serials and multimedia materials for the University's faculty, students and staff as quickly, cost effectively, and efficiently as possible. The following list highlights some of those vendors and many more resources that may be of interest or assistance.

Approval and Selection Plans

European titles distributed by American publishers are included. For more information, contact Merry Burlingham, Chief Bibliographer.

Texas University Presses: Approval plans for all titles published and/or distributed by Texas A&M University Press, Texas Western Press, and the University of Texas Press. For more information, contact Merry Burlingham, Chief Bibliographer.

France: An author-based approval plan with Aux Amateurs de Livres supports teaching and research in the Department of French and Italian. A selection plan with Jean Touzot covers current imprints in all other subjects, as requested by individual bibliographers. Germany: An approval plan with Harrassowitz focuses on German language, linguistics, literature, and culture. Current titles at the selective or representative levels are acquired for the fine arts, classics, philosophy, and several international studies programs. For more information, contact Jim Holmes, Germanic Studies Bibliographer.

Spain: A selection plan with Puvill Libros provides current titles from Spain to support teaching and research throughout the College of Liberal Arts, including Latin American Studies, and more limited coverage for the Fine Arts.
