Research + Pizza Features Mary Steinhardt on Coping with Pressure, 5/5
When: 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2015.
Background: Time to relax and breathe as finals approach; Research + Pizza will help navigate this consistently fraught period of the school year.
Dr. Mary Steinhardt of the Department of Kinesiology/Health Education presents her research on resilience, coping and positive emotions — understanding that can be of great use as students make the final push at the end of an academic calendar.
Steinhardt's research program explores the determinants and methods for building resilience and strength when challenged with change and stressful situations. Her current research projects focus on promoting resilience-based diabetes self-management programs for African Americans, reducing burnout among public school teachers and enhancing the resilience of military soldiers and their families.
Free Pizza (while it lasts) generously provided by program supporter Austin’s Pizza.
Research + Pizza is a lunchtime lecture series featuring research presentations by faculty from across the university.
