Celebrating the Life

Event: Make Some Noise @ The Library: Dance Party & Film Screening. The event is free and open to the public.

When: 8 p.m., Friday, August 29, 2014

Where: Plaza of the Perry-Castañeda Library at The University of Texas at Austin.

Background: This Friday, the façade of the PCL will once again become a giant screen to welcome Longhorns — new and true — back to campus for another semester on the Forty Acres.

For the third year, the Libraries will host a film screening and dance party on the plaza at PCL to introduce incoming students to the library and campus community.

In collaboration with UT Student Government and the Campus Events + Entertainment, the UT Libraries will present the documentary “We Cause Scenes,” the story of the groundbreaking group Improv Everywhere and its founder, Charlie Todd, who turned the world into a stage, inventing an art form for the Internet age.

For the DIYers, the event includes a Maker Break where revelers can create their own wearable LED pin, and for the Dancearchists, there will be music under the stars and into the night with music spun by the DJs from KVRX.
