AUSTIN, Texas — The Life Science Library has received $10,000 from the University Federal Credit Union (UFCU) to sponsor its popular Science Study Break program. The financial support from UFCU will make it possible for program enhancements, including increased exposure, technology upgrades and a permanent location for Science Study Break over the next two years.
AUSTIN, Texas—The University of Texas Libraries have completed a three-and-one half-year scanning project to make the Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps for Texas and Mexico (1877-1922) available online. The 10,442 maps scanned primarily from the collection of the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History at The University of Texas at Austin – with additional maps being scanned at the Library of Congress, Maps & Geography Division in Washington, D.C. – become part of the Perry-Castañeda Library Map Collection.
The University of Texas Libraries have partnered with the College of Liberal Arts at The University of Texas at Austin to host an exhibition honoring the life and work of iconic human rights activist Helen Suzman, the South African leader who devoted her life to the fight against apartheid. The panel exhibit, “Helen Suzman: Fighter for Human Rights,” will be displayed in the University Federal Credit Union Student Learning Commons at the Perry-Castañeda Library through March 27.
AUSTIN, Texas — The Fine Arts Library at The University of Texas at Austin is sponsoring a unique exhibition of ceramic pottery. The Artstream Ceramic Library, featuring the work of thirteen nationally recognized potters, is being hosted by the Fine Arts Library through Thursday, March 31.
