Celebrating the Life

AUSTIN, Texas (November 5, 2010) — A popular annual program to assist students during the taxing final stretch of the semester is returning to the University of Texas Libraries.   Just as students face the final crunch of deadlines for assignments, research papers and presentations, Reference and Information Services (RIS) in Perry-Castañeda Library, the McKinney Engineering Library, the Fine Arts Library and the Kuehne Physics Mathematics Astronomy Library (PMA) will promote the availability of in-person, drop-by assistance, subject librarian consultations and the UT Libraries Ask a Librarian IM and email services.
AUSTIN, Texas (November 18, 2010) — The Fine Arts Library (FAL) will temporarily close for a construction project to take place during the winter holiday break between semesters.   The Fine Arts Library will be closed Monday, January 3, through Friday, January 14, and will reopen for the first day of spring classes on Tuesday, January 18. Staff will observe regular hours during this period and will be available by both phone and email.
AUSTIN, Texas (November 23, 2010) — The Fine Arts Library will host an event in recognition of World AIDS Day, which occurs annually on December 1.   Guest speaker Akinyi Wadende, a graduate fellow in Education at Texas State University, will be joined by University of Texas Professor of Art History Moyo Okediji to present "Kwe Mosiko: HIV/AIDS, Art and Activism" in the Roberts Reading Room of the Fine Arts Library in the Doty Fine Arts Building beginning at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1.
