Beth Kerr named Fine Arts Library's Theatre/Dance Librarian
AUSTIN, Texas (August 31, 2004) — Beth Kerr has been named the Theatre/Dance Librarian for the Fine Arts Library, University of Texas Libraries, the University of Texas at Austin, effective September 1, 2004. Prior to this, Kerr served as collection development and reference librarian, Undergraduate Library. She joined the staff of the University of Texas Libraries in 1980 and has worked in classified positions in technical services and government documents and in professional positions in the Undergraduate and Fine Arts Libraries.
In this new position, Kerr will coordinate collection development, instruction and information literacy services and specialized reference for theatre and dance subject areas. She will also assume the duties of reference coordinator for the Fine Arts Library.
Kerr chaired the Dance Librarians Discussion Group of the Association of College and Research Libraries and was the indexer for A Core Collection in Dance, 2001. She is a member of the Theatre Library Association and the Association of College and Research Libraries.
Kerr obtained her B.F.A. from the University of Texas at Austin and M.L.S. from Texas Woman's University. She has completed course work towards the M.A. in theatre history.
