New interlibrary loan system makes borrowing even easier

AUSTIN, TX (September 22, 2003) — Thanks to the installation of a new loan management program in Interlibrary Services, library users can – in addition to making an interlibrary loan request online –

All communication from this new system will be handled by automated e-mail.

Borrowers will continue to use their valid UT EID to place interlibrary loan requests from any Internet-enabled computer. The new program does require the individual to register with the system before placing the first request.

Using this new system, library users can now request up to 40 items, instead of the previous limit of 10. And more good news – there is no longer a charge for interlibrary service.

Hours for the Interlibrary Services office (PCL 1.343) for the fall semester are: Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. - 5:45pm.; Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.; closed weekends.

Weekend pickup is still available at the Periodicals Desk when arranged in advance by a call to 495-4134.
