WHEN: 6 p.m., Saturday, October 25, 2014.
WHERE: Fine Arts Library (DFA 3.200) at The University of Texas at Austin
BACKGROUND: The fall semester installment of the Excessive Noise Concert Series at the Fine Arts Library features the new graduate quartet-in-residence at the Butler School of Music, the Cordova Quartet, and university Middle Eastern Music Ensemble, Bereket.
The program will showcase works by Vivaldi performed by Duo Brucoco, Bach performed by alumna Pamela Wilkinson and recent alumnus Russell Podgorsek with live dance by Reema Bounajem (choreography by Jessica Riggs).
Excessive Noise is an occasional concert series hosted by the Fine Arts Library. Curated by Russell Podgorsek — alumnus of the Butler School of Music — the series provides students with an opportunity to perform chamber and solo works beyond those required by their degree programs, and for the premier of original works beyond the classroom. While generally in the classical vein, Excessive Noise features work from a variety of traditions and perspectives.
The event is free and open to the public, and $3 parking permits are available for attendees.
