Celebrating the Life

AUSTIN, Texas (August 28, 2007) —Due to the renovation of the LBJ Library Plaza, access to the Benson Latin American Collection and the Public Affairs Library will be altered throughout the duration of the project, expected to extend from September 2007 until June 2009.

At all times, there will be at least one door open for public access to both facilities during normal library hours, including access for library users with mobility impairments. Specific signage will be provided at the construction site as different access paths and doors become open or closed during the plaza renovation.

Parking may be disrupted from time to time, but in general the parking lots to the east of the Benson Latin American Collection and the Public Affairs Library will be open at all normal times. The Manor Garage, directly across the street from Darrell K Royal - Texas Memorial Stadium, will also be available for parking at most times.

If you have questions about access or parking, please call the Benson Latin American Collection at (512) 495-4520 or the Public Affairs Library at (512) 495-4400 for updates and current information.

The contractors and the University will post signage directing library users and visitors along open paths as construction progresses. These signs will provide the most current and clear information about access venues available at any particular time. Still, calling ahead may save you some time and frustration.

Thank you for your patience during this large renovation project.
