Celebrating the Life

January 27, 2010 - 8:19am

AUSTIN, Texas (January 27, 2010)—The Fine Arts Library (FAL) at The University of Texas at Austin will offer a new service to expand access to its audiovisual (AV) collections.

Available now, users will be able to have audiovisual materials at FAL delivered to a convenient campus branch of the University of Texas Libraries.

The recent relocation of the AV Library from central campus created access issues for some users, so the FAL has worked to create and implement the new service on a relatively short timeline using existing resources.

The service has been incorporated into the Libraries catalog in order to ensure ease of use. Once a user has located the item in the catalog, a request can be made with the click of a button, and the item will arrive at a selected library branch location in 2-4 days. Email notification will be sent to the requesting user when the item is available for pick-up.

The materials eligible for this service include media in various formats, including CDs, DVDs, videocassettes, interactive media and CD-ROMs.

Retrieval service is only available for items from the Fine Arts Library's audiovisual collections.
