Pre-Columbian artifacts

The Department and the Center recently acquired a major collection of Pre-Columbian artifacts and numerous ethnographic textiles that were formerly part of the holdings of the Texas Memorial Museum.

The exhibit of a selection of these now on view in the Fine Arts Library was curated by Steve Bourget, Assistant Professor in the Department of Art and Art History. Bourget specializes in Pre-Columbian art history, anthropology, and archaeology.

Over the next few months, a selection of these Pre-Columbian objects will be rotated in the display.

The entrance to the Fine Arts Library is on level three of the Doty Fine Arts Building. The display is also on level three. Fine Arts Library hours are 8am-10pm, Monday through Thursday, 8am-5pm, Friday, 1pm-5pm, Saturday and 1pm-10pm Sunday.
