PCL Orientation Tours
Tours are scheduled prior to and at the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters.
Postings and handouts of the current schedule are at the Service Desks and in the PCL
elevator lobby. Also see the PCL Virtual Tour.

Library Classes
Free classes on using library resources are scheduled both long terms and the first summer session.
Most classes are taught in PCL. Postings and descriptive
handouts of the classes are available at the Information and Research Help Desk.
The schedule is
posted online and can be accessed through the
Instruction Services web page.

Scheduled Class Sessions
Prearranged sessions include tours, instruction, and workshops. They are usually
subject or discipline specific and are scheduled in advance by the professor or
instructor. You may use the electronic University of Texas Libraries Instruction Request Form
to request a session. You may also want to consult the Subject List
of PCL Reference Collection Bibliographers to determine the appropriate librarian to contact,
or ask for assistance at the Information and Research Help Desk .
These sessions are available to the university community only.

Electronic Reference Service
The Ask a Librarian service is available
for all University of Texas Libraries users. Contact a librarian via email, phone, or chat/IM; browse the list of subject specialists; or read online tutorials about library resources.

Comments
Comments and suggestions can be made through the comments
function of the UT Libraries website or by completing suggestion forms provided at the Information and Research Help Desk.
Selected responses are posted in the PCL lobby. Replies are sent when
a correct return address is provided.

Handouts and Publications
There are a number of useful library handouts and publications at the Reference and Information Desk as well as on the library website.

Staff are available for appointments when in-depth reference assistance is needed. Consult

identify the appropriate librarian to contact. Or ask for assistance at the Reference and Information Desk.
